What survives, and where it goes. Uploading is the hardest case the framework can be put to — which is exactly why it is here. This movement is a stress test, not a prospectus.

Navigation:Every Perspective Is Non-Redundant · Bandwidth Separates Inheritance From Continuation

The question this movement asks

What would it take for a person to continue somewhere else?

Movement III ended with a limit: inheritance is powerful, but narrow channels cannot carry a whole memory layer. A book can preserve a voice. A child can inherit a recipe for a learner. A culture can transmit methods, stories, and warnings. But none of those is automatically personal continuation.

Movement IV asks what would be different if the channel were wide enough, sustained enough, and integrated enough to carry the memory layer itself.

This is why uploading belongs here. It is not introduced as a forecast or a business plan. It is the hardest test case for the account built so far. If the framework can say clearly what would count as continuation, what would count only as inheritance, and what copy routes actually cost, then it has earned its keep.

The movement in one sentence

Continuation requires enough bandwidth and integration to carry the memory layer while preserving the boundary; the strongest routes keep one boundary maintained, while copy routes remain possible but costly because what dies in them is the unsaved delta.

That is the conceptual claim. It does not say current technology can do this. It does not say when it could. It does not promise survival.

It only says what would have to be true.

How the movement unfolds

  1. Bandwidth Separates Inheritance From Continuation opens with the least speculative claim. Low-bandwidth channels give inheritance; sufficiently high, sustained, integrated channels may give continuation.
  2. How We Will Upload Our Consciousness imports and improves the Personal Digitizer Device scenario. One-neuron-at-a-time replacement is the clearest geometry because no single step has to carry the whole metaphysical burden.
  3. The Skull Is Not the Boundary removes the anatomical picture. If a boundary is functional, then outboard parts can become part of the relevant system if they are densely, bidirectionally, and load-bearingly integrated.
  4. Interface AND Inference gives the ordering condition. The world-facing interface has to migrate before, or at least not lag behind, the inference it grounds.
  5. An Endosymbiosis You Consent To gives the biological frame. A larger boundary can form around a smaller one, absorb it, and make the earlier form into a life stage rather than an ending.
  6. What Dies in a Copy Route Is the Delta handles backups, transporters, and destructive scan cases. Copying is metaphysically undefeated but prudentially dispreferred.
  7. The Biosphere Grows a Technosphere scales the same pattern up. The future need not be replacement; it may be a new layer grown by the biosphere and integrated with it.
