Interpretation

“A self is that which makes continuity out of discreteness, discreteness out of continuity, nothing out of something, something out of nothing, infinity out of finitude, and finitude out of infinity.”

“Limits” in Principia Humanica are not (usually) moral limits or motivational limits. They’re observer limits: boundaries created by finite reach, finite resolution, finite memory, finite attention, and delayed coupling.
